Western Canada Rug Hooking Education Association

The Western Canada Rug Hooking Education Association (WCRHEA) trains and educates teachers in the fibre art of traditional rug hooking.  Our members can be found teaching rug hooking in their communities or at workshops throughout North America.

We have been closely associated with PHRHS since our inception.  Thanks to the vision and dream of two rug hookers from Saskatchewan, Doris Fulmore and Flora Hamilton, Western Canada now has both a rug hooking school and a teachers association.

With the addition of our new website, we are working to promote our talented teachers to the broader rug hooking community.  Visit our webpage, if you are:

  • Thinking of becoming a teacher (a new group is starting their training in 2020!)
  • Already a teacher and interested in cross-certification
  • Trying to locate a teacher for your next workshop
  • Wanting to join a group of teachers
  • Or just want to find out what we are all about
