Come join me for a fun week of hooking, where the sky is the limit. Brighten up and finish an old project or start something new. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rug hooker you will enjoy this class. Feel free to explore any and all aspects of rug hooking, any style or cut, extra large to extra small. This class will follow student desires and will be geared to what individuals want to learn. I am willing to help with design, colour planning and every aspect you need to develop a one of a kind project.
Laurie has a BSC in Home Economics, clothing and textiles, from the University of Alberta and has completed many art and design courses from the Extension Faculty. She enjoys all fibre art but specializes in rug hooking. Laurie hooks in Edmonton, Alberta where she is very active in the hooking guild, in charge of the learning and development section. She has shown rugs in several galleries and shows across Canada and the United States, and has published several articles in both Rug Hooking Magazine and ATHA newsletter.
In the 2015 Alberta Focus on Fibre Arts Competition her rug Prairie Landscape was awarded Best of Show.
