2017 Activities

Sunday night after the first 2 hours in class, everyone meets for a Wine and Cheese Reception. Meet all your old friends and make some new ones!

Our theme for activities for 2017 is Canada’s 150th Celebration. Wear some red and white!!!!
The wrap-up Thursday afternoon will also be centered around the theme, with ad-hoc groups performing skits, dances and songs. The 8″ mats created for the Challenge Rug Mat Swap are also based on this theme and exchanged during this time.

CHALLENGE RUG MAT SWAP You can join the challenge by creating a hooked 8″x8″ mat based on the theme. These will be exchanged at the banquet, and you will take home a mat hooked by another student.

RUG SHOW  Please bring one or more rugs for the rug show which will be held for one day at the School. These should be finished and ready to hang. We will provide labels for you to complete to identify your rugs.

VENDORS We usually have 5 to 7 vendors. Legacy Studio has a full range of hooking items and attends for the full school. Other vendors specializing in dyed wool, frames, hoops and other rug hooking items also have tables. If you are interested in being a vendor, please contact the Registrar., Janet McLean janmarmcl@hotmail.com There is no charge for vendors.

GARAGE SALE   Students all have an opportunity to sell unused or second-hand hooking supplies, dyed or recycled wool or any craft materials, or hand crafted items.

WOOL DRAW  Students can participate in a draw for bundles of wool fabric strips. A ticket to win a bundle is given with each 3″x12″ strip of new wool.

DAILY DRAWS  Every day there are daily draws for prizes. Each student and teacher is entered into the draw, and usually everyone gets a prize! Often hooking related, these are all donated by school attendees. Donations are gratefully accepted if you would like to bring a prize to donate to the draw.

VOLUNTEERS All these fun activities are the result of careful planning and work by a team of volunteers led by the Entertainment Committee. if you are interested in helping out please contact Janet  janmarmcl@hotmail.com
