‘Portrait: Let’s Face It!’
This is a workshop designed to help you create a portrait in wool. I love making realistic faces and I’m looking forward to helping my students learn how to do it, too. I primarily work in fine cuts, but I’m able to help students in a variety of cuts. The workshop is about faces, and I’m including animal faces as well as human ones. I’ve found that animals can have very expressive faces, sometimes more so than people! The goal is to help you bring someone to life in a rug, whether it’s family, friends, or someone famous. If you wish to draw up your own pattern, feel free to do so. I will also draw patterns up for anyone who needs it, and the price will be based on the size and complexity of the design. You will need to mail or email images in advance for me to get them done, but I love doing it. I will also bring a variety of hand-dyed wool including skin tones and textures so you will have plenty to choose from, in addition to what you will bring of your own. Let’s face it; this will be a wonderful workshop!
